This little horse is an absolute saint. After 5 weeks off just hanging out in the pasture, I pull her out and drag her all across the state, and she acts like it’s all no big deal. The day before this I had just set out from Arizona to start a summer of exploring. This day was the first day of living out of my horse trailer full time and it came with a bit of a rocky start. One of the first things I did that morning after feeding the horses was put my neck out so badly that I spent 30 minutes lying in my trailer staring at the ceiling trying not to move because something as little as swallowing sent significant pain down the left side of my neck and back and into my shoulder. Whilst annoying, unfortunately putting my neck out is a pretty regular occurrence, just not usually to this extent. That evening was my permit for my Bryce Canyon ride, and seeing as you have to book these in advance, I knew if I didn’t go that night I wouldn’t be going at all. So with the help of @cherishsolomon and the maximum allowed dose of ibuprofen, I limped my way out to Bryce that evening, and boy was it worth it. At the time I didn’t realise just how long the trail was. I didn’t track it because these days my phone has the battery life of a glow stick, but we were going along at a Thelma level pace (fast) and it still took 3.5 hours. We didn’t start riding until my permitted time of 7pm, so we ended up getting back to the trailer long after dark, but riding through this country in golden hour and watching the sun go down between the hoodoos was the best possible way to kick off trailer life (excluding of course the neck hiccup). #utah #brycecanyon #nationalpark #hoodoos #bridleless #equineasmr #asmr #reddeadredemption2 #horseriding #lifebetweentheears #morningmeditation #trailerlife #greengoldandblues
